![]() It is child's play to share music, images, documents or folders of any sort with friends, family or colleagues. However, if you are one to constantly check your facebook privacy setting this might be the service to try for all of your storage needs. With TeamDrive you can keep your data synchronized between various computers simply and automatically. With facebook constantly changing their privacy settings you never know if what you are storing on facebook, even if you think is secure, will actually wind up being seen by the whole community. ![]() The other thing about facebook, as anyone can tell you, is their privacy functions. Also, as far as I can tell, you cannot store music files, but I am sure that is just a little ways off. It is a little slow, especially to receive e-mails from outside of facebook. I have tried facebook as my primary one stop shop service. Think about it – you can store your photos and video, they have partnered with Box.net to enable you to upload files securely and now facebook offers not only e-mail messages within it’s own system but you are now able to send and receive emails to and from outside the service if you sign up for a free e-mail address. Surprisingly, the one service that seems to have everything all under one roof is a place you may not think to look and that place is Facebook. I hope Apple pays more attention to this service as it seems like there is a lot of potential for it. I have read a lot of the same complaints from Macheads and light users of the service alike. I have signed up for the free 60 day trial a number of times only to wind up canceling it within a day due to its poor functionality. It is extremely slow and always seems to be lag. The problem is it is a very buggy program. This is what I am looking for – a one stop shop for everything all in one place. You also have the ability to have e-mail through the service. You have the ability to sign in to one site and upload pictures, music, video, text, etc. MobileMe is a great idea that has been poorly executed. ![]() I will support everything Mac and defend even it’s not-so-great products, i.e. The closest and in no way the best, is Apple’s MobileMe service. It is not one place where I can live harmoniously in a fluffy, gossamer cloud surrounded by all my beautiful files. However, the services I have tried either offer a little of this and none of that or none of that and a little of this. Why people….why in this day and age of web 3.0 can’t I find a service like this? I know many folks have told me that they are out there and they have suggested sites I should try. I see cotton candy skies of being able to share any of these files at any given moment with anyone of my choosing without them having to sign up for the service. I see sugar mountains of encryption for all of my data and the candy fields of being able to download any of these files at any time I please. What is my perfect cloud computing experience you may ask? Well, first off, thanks for asking, secondly, I dream a dream in which a service offers chocolate rivers of unlimited storage with gum drop kingdoms of unlimited file size uploads of any type of file, whether it be music, photos, video, or text all for one deliciously low price.
